The 2025-2026 UNESCO The Great Wall Fellowships Scholarships are now opened for interested applicants from African, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Europe, and Arab World. The fellowships scholarships are sponsored by the Chinese government for researchers and students to study further for the postgraduate degree. A total of 75 fellowships scholarships will be awarded for the 47 open post from developing Member States Also the programs will be taught in English and Chinese, while proficiency certificate is required for programs taught in Chinese.

2025-2026 UNESCO The Great Wall Fellowships Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

The age requirements and academic standards must be met by the Member State citizens such as being under 45 and finished with high school for the general scholar programs while being under 50, holding a master degree and a associates professors for the Senior Scholar Programs and under 35 for bachelor degree. All requirements and documents must be met and submitted including HSK level 3 for proficiency in Chinese and proficiency in English.

All requirements must be submitted in order to be eligible for the scholarships and follow the details of the application guidelines. Contact the UNESCO in your country for the application details and selected Chinese universities should be contacted by the students for the applied study programs. The Chinese Government Scholarships Information System is where all required documents and application are submitted including your country UNESCO National Commission. Nomination is done by the National Commission and applications are taken into account by the UNESCO including submitting all documents and online application to thegreatwall@unesco.org if nominated.
